Tell me everything that happened, tell me everything you saw. They had lights inside their eyes. Did you see the closing window, did you hear the slamming door? They moved forward and my heart died.
Did you touch them, did you hold them? Did they follow you to town? They make me feel I’m falling down. Was there one you saw too clearly, did they seem too real to you? They were kids that I once knew.
Now they’re all dead hearts to you. {♫}

So everyone just banded together and got Andrew Hussie $700,000 for his video game project. That’s not only great, it’s insane! Just look at the power Homestucks as a group can wield! It’s incredible!
And now it’s time to use that power for Good.
It’s all about heroes, people, and now is the time to be a hero to someone else. You just bought yourself a game — that’s cool! (I sure bought a copy.) But think of what $700,000 could mean to a family on the street, a cancer patient, or a victim of abuse.
Right now, please take a moment to go to Doctors Without Borders, Habitat For Humanity, Human Rights Campaign or your favorite charity and donate the same amount you paid for your copy of the game - or anything, really! Even $15 can make a difference to someone in need. As a little extra incentive, through the entire run of the Homestuck Kickstarter, turn in proof of your donation to me and you can get a doodle from me or Ven, or 100 words from me or Lira for your favorite Homestuck pairing!
You can change a person’s life. You can be a hero.
Homestucks, you have the power!
ASCEND!
I want to say I’m astounded by how quickly this fandom has funded Andrew Hussie’s kickstarter. And it warms my heart to think about fandom as this collective force capable of working together so flawlessly to meet a goal, but I am not actually surprised. I love this fandom, and this is what I have come to expect of us.
It’s Lana’s idea to use a little of that unstoppable drive to do good things for good charities, and I wholeheartedly approve! Please consider making a donation, and if you do, I would be delighted to write something for you.
Yes please do this!
Doctors Without Borders is an excellent charity
Please also consider donating to the Red Cross!
Wow what a good idea and list
Please, please also consider donating to Planned Parenthood, too. They’re pretty well known but the amount of good they do for your local community can’t possibly be underestimated, and a lot of bad people and organizations try and strangle them out, they appreciate every little bit they get.

That and the fact that people are selling it on “just get through the first few acts” does not give me confidence. I shouldn’t have to devote hours of my time to something before deciding if it interests me.
WE SHALL BE ALONE IN NOT READING HOMESTUCK
eh, maybe some day
Yeah it does take time. I mean, I got into it before Act 4 or 5 happened? So I still had a huge amount of catching up to do. But even so, I marathoned it in 4 days at 4 hours a day cus I had nothing better to do. But you might!
You’re not required to marathon it, though! To keep your interest and to waste a bit of time, just read a few pages here and there! Even if it’s on going you can still enjoy the back end of it until you eventually catch up!
It’s an interesting story and a fun read to which I usually recommend as long as people are willing to read it and understand yeah it’s a lot of reading.
But if it’s not for you then it’s not for you!
Don’t do it!
